About Designer

Jenny Majmudar's journey in the design world began with her studies in Architecture at the renowned Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). There, she developed a keen eye for detail and a deep appreciation for the intricate blend of form and function. Her career took off when she joined HBA (Hirsh Bedner Associates) in Los Angeles, a global leader in hospitality design. Working on high-profile projects, she gained invaluable experience and insights into creating spaces that are luxurious and welcoming.

However, Jenny’s aspirations extended beyond the confines of traditional design roles. Fueled by her passion for history, craftsmanship, and the environment, she envisioned and created a brand that would embody these values while offering something unique to the buyers. Thus, Bēsō was born - a collection of sustainable furniture pieces that honour the artistry of traditional craftsmanship while embracing modern design principles.

Jenny believes that the essence of great design lies in its ability to tell a story. For her, every piece of furniture is not just an object, but a narrative of the artisan's skill, the history of the materials, and the thoughtful consideration of functionality and beauty. At Bēsō, each product is carefully handcrafted by skilled artisans, known as Karigars, who pour their heart and soul into their work. These artisans, with their rich heritage of craftsmanship, create truly unique pieces carrying forward traditions that have been honed over generations.

What sets Bēsō apart is Jenny’s unwavering commitment to authenticity and sustainability. In a world fraught with hyper-industrialization, she strives to keep the human touch alive in every phase of the design process. This dedication not only preserves the cultural significance of handmade products but also ensures that each piece is crafted with care and precision.

Jenny’s philosophy is simple yet profound: create beauty through thoughtful design while staying true to core values. This approach has allowed Bēsō to develop a distinctive voice in the design community, offering furniture that is not only visually enticing but also deeply meaningful and utilitarian. Her journey from the academic halls of SCAD to the bustling design studios of Los Angeles, and finally to her brand, is a testament to her vision and determination to bring recognition and attention to the rich heritage of craftsmanship of India.

Explore the world of Bēsō, where every piece tells a story of passion, skill, and timeless elegance. Let Jenny Majmudar’s creations inspire you to see furniture not just as functional items, but as works of art that enrich your living spaces and connect you to a legacy of craftsmanship.
